A little about Tri-State K9 University: Tri-State K9 University is a locally owned venture. As members of the community we feel it
is our responsibility to be leaders in giving something back to the place we call home. Educators as well as animal lovers,
we strive to make this a better world for those animals less fortunate. In addition to helping canine parents, Tri-State K9 University is involved with helping rescue organizations and
animal shelters with behavioral counseling, K9 Rehabilitation, and training. We also sponsor fundraisers for local animal
welfare agencies on a regular basis.

We are pleased to welcome our NEW director!! Nancy Lybarger has been named WHS executive
director. She and her husband, Jon, moved to Newburgh seven years ago. Prior to coming to WHS, she was the executive director
for Historic Newburgh, Inc. Before that, she served as a membership director for Girl Scouts of Raintree Council and spent
the 20 years before moving to Newburgh as a newspaper editor. Between
them, the Lybargers have four children and four grandchildren. They are owned by two dogs, Bonnie and Blue, who were adopted
from a Tennessee rescue nearly two years ago. Nancy has degrees in journalism and public relations from Ball State University. She believes in the WHS no-kill policy and that public education about spay/neuter programs is a solution to overpopulation
in dogs and cats. She is going to make every effort to keep WHS in the public eye with positive news about volunteers and
pet success stories. She wants
to insure a steady funding stream for the adoption center and develop a certified volunteer program. "I'd like nothing better than to have to go out of business
because there are no more stray animals who need new homes. However, until that happens, we want to make sure our clients
are healthy when they find their new best friends," she said.

 Students from Tecumseh High School
recently volunteered to paint the garage door to the Warrick Humane Society as a part of the community service that the Tecumseh
Art Club takes part in. Christine Woolsey is the teacher for the club. Members include Ali Nord, Megan Froman, Kayla Skelton,
Kristen Menke and Kraig Bowen. The club also painted the new sign for the humane society along Vann Road. Other projects include
raising money for a cleft palate surgery for an area child, as well as hosting art contests for Elberfeld and Lynnville elementary
school students. Photo by Timothy W. Young
