Is su casa mi casa? I hope so!  Cocoa and all the dogs at WHS come with vaccinations, spay/neutering, ShelterCare pet insurance and microchipping.

Tarzan
webassets/Tarzan2.jpg
Chihuahua
Tarzan need Jane (and family). Though I can't swing on vines or talk to gorillas, I am something of an anomaly. I'm a friendly full-blooded chihuahua! No ankle biting for me! I've been at WHS for several months and wish someone would pick me to go home with them... I love people, cats and dogs. I've been a good boy and since I'm only eight pounds, I don't even eat much! I'm just glad WHS is a no-kill shelter! If my family is out there, please come pick me!

webassets/TED.jpg
Ted-E
Pomeranian
When you rescue a small dog, they will spend every day of their lives thanking you properly. Ted-E is a small, eight-year-old Pomeranian that was neglected for some time. Other dogs repeatedly bit him on the back but his scabs finally have the chance to heal. Ted doesn't hold a grudge though. He's good with other dogs and cats but because of his size, needs a home without small children. Ted is crate trained and almost house trained. He just needs a loving family that will be patient if any accidents arise. Ted may look a little viscous but when you meet him, you'll know not to judge a book by its cover. He just wants to go home and be loved on.

Chi Chi
Pit Bull Mix
When you take Chi Chi home, you'll want to change her name to something more appropriate, like "Cadbury Bunny." Her ears aren't her towering quality though; this young pit bull mix is as sweet as candy and is good with all people, dogs and cats. Come in to meet Chi Chi and find out why you'll want to stick her in your basket this Easter. But, no, you can't bite her ears off!

Big Boy/Westie ADOPTED!

Big Boy is a Westie who enjoys getting his hair done and long walks with his family. He is housebroken and loves being with other doggie friends. Big Boy would make a perfect addition to any family. Domestic Shorthair Kittens
Meet Oliver Twist and Pip, two kittens whose were born into misfortune. All cats over six weeks are Feline Leukemia tested, vaccinated, spay/neutered, microchipped, Revolution flea/tick control applied and nails trimmed prior to adoption. Call 812-858-1132 for more information about the orphans or stop in today and see all the dogs and cats looking for homes.

webassets/Romeo2.jpgRomeo - ADOPTED
Shih Tzu
One animal shelter, where no healthy dog or cat is ever put down, in fair Newburgh, where we lay our scene. Romeo, Romeo... Where for art thou Romeo? Unlike Shakespeare's Romeo, our little guy has no Montagues to call his clan but his story won't end sadly. He came to WHS infested with fleas but is healthy, happy and ready to go to his star-cross'd forever family. Romeo's adoption fee is $250 and comes with vaccinations, spay/neutering, ShelterCare pet
insurance and microchipping.

webassets/apolloCREED2.jpgApollo Creed - ADOPTED
Schnauzer

Hi, I'm Apollo Creed. I'm named Apollo because as a pup I was caught in a hay baler and lived to tell the tale; I'm a fighter! Because of my harrowing experience, I have some scars but just like Apollo Creed I don't let my past hold me down. I'm housebroken and six-years-old. I'm also very friendly and can master just about anything with training. Need an inspiration in your household? Take me home today!

Pekingese

Single Black Spayed Female Seeks Long Term Relationship with Forever Family
I'm a one-year-old housebroken lady who is tired of being lonely! I have thick black hair, a button nose, 12" tall and weigh 15 pounds. I enjoy long walks, cuddling in bed with my people, laying in the sun and learning new and challenging tricks. I'd like to meet a family who is fun, values giving ear and back scratches and always has plenty of treats on hand. I'm a progressive pooch and don't mind sharing my new family with other dogs or cats. Come and meet me at WHS and we'll see where it goes!

webassets/Luigi2.jpgLuigi - ADOPTED
Domestic Shorthair

Sealy Bonemouth (ADOPTED!)

Shar Peiwebassets/Sealy.jpg

If you are looking for a pet with a sad story to tell, Sealy Bonemouth is your dog. Before coming to WHS, Sealy spent his life on a chain outside. Though a full-blooded Shar Pei, he has been poorly bred. Sealy will never win a trophy in the show ring, but will definitely win over your heart. Though his life hasn't been charming and he has been at the shelter for several months, he retains a positive attitude and clowns around whenever people visit him. He was even sweet to a teeny kitten who was brought in with him. Come see Sealy Bonemouth soon because life in a shelter just isn't home. All WHS dogs go home with vaccinations, spay/neutering, ShelterCare pet insurance and microchipping. Call 812-858-1132 for more information about Sealy or stop in today and see all the dogs and cats looking for homes.

webassets/Gizmo.jpgGizmo (ADOPTED!)
Chihuahua
Legend and history surround this pint-sized canine. Originally a free-roaming pack animal, historians believe the Chihuahua may have come to Mexico from China or Europe. At only ten pounds, though Gizmo may bear the fruits of his ancestors, all he wants is to go to a loving home and cuddle on his forever friend's lap all day. Gizmo is good with other dogs and cats but because of his size, he needs a home without small children. Adoption fee is $75. All WHS pets come with vaccinations, spay/neutering, ShelterCare pet insurance and microchipping. Call 812-858-1132 for more information about Gizmo or stop in today and see all the dogs and cats looking for homes.

webassets/Ghost.jpgGHOST - ADOPTED

URGENT! Ghost has only two weeks to live and needs a home NOW!
We feluk/aids tested him today and you guessed it, he is pos. for aids. If he could be an indoor only cat in the home he could live a happy normal life. But he must
be an indoor cat to ensure he doesn’t spread his disease to other outdoor cat populations. It...
is a long shot be thought before he was put down we would try and attempt to find him a home. We have 2 weeks to find one for him or he will be put to sleep o due to his contagious disease to other cats. Please email me if you or someone you know can help, he has a sponsor and his vetting will be covered. Thanks for reading this and passing along to others who may want a sweet loving kitty. Please email Andrea personally at taborn@insightbb.com or at whspac@yahoo.com, if you can help.
